Meet the Coaches

The Chaska / Chanhassen Stallions club maintains a paid coaching staff of seasoned veterans to teach our youth the sport of wrestling. Our coaches are outstanding and our youth receive excellent training in technique, conditioning and discipline.

Stallions Program

Josh Berg

Josh returns this year as the head coach for the Stallions Youth program. He has been the assistant coach for the Stallions from 2022-2025.

Josh is a 2012 Graduate of Pewaukee, WI High School where he was a four-time state qualifier and a one-time state place winner. In his high school career, Josh amassed 156 career wins.   

As a 2017 Graduate of St Cloud State, he was a five-year member of the wrestling team where he was team captain and member of two national championship teams. 

Clayton Jennissen

Clayton Jennissen joins us this year as assistant coach for the Stallions Youth program.

Clayton wrestled at Cambridge-Isanti High School, graduating in 2012. He earned three state medals: 4th in 2010, 2nd in 2011, and 3rd in 2012.

Continuing his career at St. Cloud State University, Jennissen was a three-year team captain, three-time NCAA national qualifier, and NCAA All-American, placing 7th at 174 lbs in 2016. As a coach and clinician, Clayton has mentored youth at the Rum River Wrestling Club, Woodbury High School, and at JRobinson Wrestling Camps.

Ponies Program

Brenden Olevson

Brenden is the coach of our Intro to Wrestling ("Ponies") program, leading our youngest wrestlers since the program's inception in 2024.

Brenden is also an Assistant Coach for the Stormhawks High School, after coaching stints in both South Dakota and Nebraska. 

In high school, Olevson was a four-time state qualifier and two-time MSHSL state place winner taking sixth in 2015 & 2016...Olevson is also a Rumble on the Red Champion while wrestling at 152 pounds in the 2015-16 season. In addition, he is the winningest wrestler in Stormhawk history, posting a 211-36 career record.

Stormhawks Program

Cabe Miller

Cabe Miller will be the Head Coach of the new Stormhawks Middle School Program.

Cabe led the Stallions Youth Wrestling program as the head coach from 2022-2025. For the13 years prior, Cabe was an assistant coach for the Stormhawk High School program.  

Cabe is a Stormhawk Alumni, graduating in 2008. He was a state qualifier and is still in the top 10 on the All-Time Stormhawk Wins list with 125 career wins.

Garrett South

Garrett South, an accomplished Iowa wrestler from Cumberland (CAM HS), holds one of Luther College’s premier wrestling records: 127–32 with 58 pins. A four‑time NCAA Division III national qualifier, South earned All‑America honors three times and became the 2005 national champion at 165 lbs. He captured three Iowa Conference titles, earned Outstanding Wrestler honors, and was instrumental in Luther’s best-ever NCAA team finishes. A multi‑year NWCA Scholar All‑American and CoSIDA Academic All‑America, South was recognized as the Iowa Conference Male Scholar‑Athlete of the Year and earned an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. He was inducted into the NWCA D‑III Hall of Fame in 2013. He served as an assistant wrestling coach at Simpson College from 2008 through 2014.

Garrett currently resides in Chaska with his wife, Annie. He is the Director of Digital Solutions for a group of John Deere dealerships with 38 locations in the upper midwest.
